HLA Members Terri, Norm, Ilene and Kevin in November 2007 were taking a last cruise of
the season around the lake and seen this amazing site. This is taken in Zone 6.  A herd of
deer crossing to the other side. I have also seen crossings in Zone 2. This is such an
amazing site to witness. Thank you Terri for your pictures and sharing them with us.

We have the house on the point with the tall lighthouse..in the cove near Goose Neck Point.
This morning..Nov. 23rd..I took video and still photos of 8 Bald Eagles together on the ice near Goose Neck
point. It was amazing! We saw 2 together on the ice last winter (I have on video) and frequently see Bald Eagles
in front of our house. We had an immature Bald Eagle sitting on the ground out on our hill last spring. I thought it
was a Golden Eagle because it did not have a white head and tail. However, I looked it up on the Internet and
found that instead it was an immature Bald Eagle. I do believe that is what I filmed today.

2010  FALL FISHING REPORT

As Reported by Jim Key
After a hot summer and slow fishing, the weather has finally changed to fall and cooler temperatures.
The Flint Journal reported there are a few walleye being caught, but it’s spotty.

The blue gills and perch are moving into shallow waters as the water cools.  When the water gets cold enough, it sparks the perch to spawn,
usually around first ice.  Holloway has some nice perch and bluegills, which usually are fished less then walleye.  I would fish the deeper
holes along the hidden weed beds.

Cat fish are still biting, and the bass are turned on again.  Some people say that this is the best time of the year for walleye fishing, but early
morning and late afternoon are the best.

The water usually starts to lower the first of November and should be down but the 15th of November,

The next
Free Fishing Weekend is February 19 & 20 of 2011.  So if you like to ice fish get out and enjoy.  Just remember to take a kid fishing

CATFISH FOR A CAUSE TOURNAMENT PICTURES
                                                               CATFISH FOR A CAUSE

The Free Catfish Tournament that was held on August 28, 2011 was successful for planning the event with only 2
weeks notice.   A total of 100 men, women and children registered.  Total catch of catfish was about 103 and total
weight was 102.5 Lbs.
First and second place was a tie with 9.5 Lbs.. It was decided  with a toss of a coin giving the winner a basket of
fishing supplies to our own  Jim Key . Second place went to Warren Palmer.  He has the largest catfish caught ,
weighing 4 Lbs, 5 oz..  Third place went to Robert Jennings with a total of 8lbs. They also received a nice basket
of fishing needs. In the food tent they were serving, donuts, hot dogs, chips, and water.  Everyone had a lot of
fun!!  Thank you Genesee County Parks and Recreation for making this event happen. A special thanks to Nancy
Edwards
